Lucas Wiper Motor Wiring

Single Speed Setup

With the switch to Painless wiring harnesses, we have changed the setup of the wipers. We now use a single (fast) speed setup with no automatic parking.

Power comes from the fuse box over the blue wire #905. It goes into the high speed input (terminal #3 on the motor) The ground wire for the motor runs to the dash switch (a simple on-off, 2 terminal) and then to ground. Turning on the switch allows the motor to ground, and it runs. Switching off breaks the ground circuit, and the motor stops.

Two Speed Setup

Hawk: Thanks for the info!

It is very important to use the correct switch. There is a lot of confusion over the two position Lucas switch and it is important to use the correct one which is different to the two position switch. Using the wrong one will result in blown fuses and no self park facility. You must use the Lucas switch part number 35927 and wire it as per the diagram below.

Some cars have the stated Lucas switch, although I would check to make sure that it is still functioning correctly. Please check that the wiper motor and switch are wired correctly.
