On September 11, 2001 the World Trade Centers in New York City were attacked and destroyed. While over 3,000 people were killed, the heroic effects of many prevented the tragedy from becoming worse.  The closest hospital to ground zero bore the brunt of the workload and expense of the effort.

Right after the attacks, we spoke to some of our customers in New York who were there on that day. One family, the Gages, told us about the hospital named "The New York City Downtown Hospital" which had been the center of the rescue efforts, and whose budgets had been drained terribly working through the disaster. We decided the best way we could help would be to sell a car and donate the proceeds.

With lots of help from people around the world, including our factory workers in Poland, and many members of Club Cobra we built a KMS427S/C to be auctioned on eBay. Karen and Jack Gage were extrememly helpful by securing a spot in the NYC Auto Show in April, and we timed the auction to the event.
